On being informed, a team of fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Fortunately, the fire was brought under control before it could spread to other buildings in the area, averting a major mishap.
“It was around 4:30-4:45 pm, I, along with two other staff, and two other customers were present at the showroom. All of a sudden, the battery of a new bike burst. In fear, we hid inside the bike showroom. We tried to douse the flames with water. However, the fire spread, forcing us to get out of the showroom,” claimed the showroom owner, Sibabrata Swain.
