3 minor children die after falling into septic tank in Narsinghpur

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Ragadipada village under Badamba police limits in Narsinghpur when three minors, including two minor boys and one minor girl, lost their lives after falling into a septic tank on Monday afternoon.

Accident During a Family Visit
According to reports, the victims had come to their maternal uncle’s house. While playing near an under-construction toilet area, one child accidentally slipped into the septic tank. In a desperate attempt to save him, the other two followed all three, tragically losing their lives within moments.
Helpless Locals and Rescue Efforts
Hearing the children’s cries, villagers rushed to rescue them, but the situation turned critical before help could arrive. Police and fire service personnel reached the scene shortly after and recovered the bodies. The victims were immediately taken to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

"Actually, we didn't know anything as we were at home, when my sister called me and said son has fallen to the septic tank and they have taken him to Badamba medical. When we came to Badamba medical, we heard that they had gone to Ragadipada, where the incident happened. The children were playing while standing near the septic tank. They didn't know whether the slab would slip or not. While they climbed the slab, it somehow slipped, and all three children fell into the tank. There were 2 boys and 1 girl, all 3 minor children were declared dead," said Ankit Kumar Nayak, a local resident.
Badamba Police have launched an inquiry into the incident. Post-mortem examinations are being conducted, and officials have urged residents to ensure proper safety around open or uncovered tanks and construction areas.

The tragic loss has plunged the entire village into mourning. What began as an innocent afternoon of play turned into a devastating accident, a stark reminder of the importance of safety awareness in rural homes to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
