At least 28 personnel of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) were injured after a bus carrying them met with an accident in Keonjhar district early on Friday. The mishap occurred near Taduabahal on National Highway 520 under the jurisdiction of Champua police station.
According to preliminary information, the bus was travelling from Jalaput to Keonjhar when a speeding truck rammed into it from behind. The impact caused the bus driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then collided with another truck moving ahead on the highway.
All the OISF personnel on board the bus sustained injuries in the collision. Of them, at least 10 were reported to be seriously injured. Soon after the incident, police and emergency services rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations.
The injured personnel were shifted to Champua Hospital and Basudevpur Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said the condition of those seriously injured is being closely monitored.

Police have launched an investigation into the accident and are making efforts to trace and take action against the truck responsible for the initial collision. Preliminary reports suggest that dense fog in the area may have contributed to the mishap by reducing visibility on the highway.
Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
