Nuapada: At least 12 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Nuapada, as per the confirmation received from Collector Madhusmita Sahoo on Friday.

According to Sahoo, all the new COVID-19 cases have been reported from temporary medical camps (TMCs). Sharing details of the patients, the collector said, all the COVID-19 patients are male and out of them 11 had returned from Mumbai and 1 from Hyderabad.

These new cases have been reported from Sinapali ,Boden, Khariar and Nuapada blocks.

“All the 12 COVID-19 patients will be shifted to Bolangir COVID hospital for further treatment as four of them are symptomatic and remaining eight asymptomatic,” said Sahoo.

Sahoo further informed that with the detection of 12 more COVID positive cases, the total COVID count in the district has reached 26.

Later in the evening, Sundergarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan confirmed that 13 new COVID-19 cases have been reported from the district.

Earlier today, 90 COVID-19 patients recovered in state and as per the Health and Family Welfare department data, the total recoveries now stand at 977.

Official sources informed that out of the total 90 recoveries, 23 persons are from Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur (22), Bhadrak (21), Ganjam (15), Cuttack (3), Sambalpur(2), Khurda (2), Balasore (1) and Nayagarh (1).
