Serious irregularities were reported in the semester results at Sonepur College, which is affiliated under Rajendra University in Subarnapur district. On Wednesday, several students were reportedly awarded marks exceeding the maximum limit, with some receiving 103 and 105 out of 100. In stark contrast, others were given as little as 4 out of 80.

Students Surround Exam Controller

Angered by the errors, students confronted and surrounded the External Controller who had arrived from Rajendra University. They questioned him over the discrepancies and engaged in intense arguments, demanding immediate clarification and corrective action.

“Under Rajendra University, students’ futures are being risked. The external controller is pushing students into uncertainty. The authorities do not seem to know when examinations are conducted, how marks are updated, or even the evaluation formula. If a student fails in a subject, they are unable to access the question paper, yet money is being collected. Many students have back papers. How can someone score 105 out of 100? Rajendra University is committing a serious lapse and playing with the future of students,” alleged one student.

Another aggrieved student said, “I am a third semester student. I got 4 out of 80 in the external exam. It is astonishing. I applied for rechecking but received no response. Now I am in the sixth semester and still no solution has been provided.”

Responding to the allegations, the external controller said, "The internal marks entry is done in college and the college and the principal has done mistakes during the internal mark entry. We always try to solve if students are facing any problems."

Speaking on the 101/100 issue, he said,

"There was a fault in the mark entry which has been solved by the portal. I have come here to Sonepur college as an external controller and to motivate the students. After coming here, students were displeased with something, I told them to list out their problems to be resolved," said the external controller.

The incident has raised serious concerns over the evaluation process, with students now awaiting transparent corrective measures from the authorities.
