Youth tied to tree, roughed up over theft charges in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Tension prevailed at Sababrata village in the district as locals beat up a youth after tying him to a tree for attempting to loot from some houses with his other aides late Wednesday night.

According to sources, as many as six unidentified miscreants had sneaked into the village while the villagers were away to witness Makar Mela at a nearby area.

After the locals found out about the loot bid they rushed back to the village and gheraoed the youths.

However, they were able to catch one of the youths while his five other associates managed to flee from the spot. They tied the youth to a tree and thrashed him black and blue.

Upon receiving information, a team of local police arrived at the spot and the villagers handed over the detained youth to the cops. Police also seized a bike from the possession of the beaten youth.
