Youth Beaten Up In Odisha Over Eve-Teasing

Dhenkanal: A youth was allegedly thrashed over eve-teasing in Odisha and a video purportedly showing the accused being tied to an electricity pole with a shoe garland around his neck is doing rounds in social media.

As per reports, the video was shot at Bedapada village under Rasol Police limits in Dhenkanal district. The video shows the youth being thrashed by locals after a minor girl, Shruti (Name Changed) complained of regular eve-teaching and harassment by him.

However, the family of the youth lodged a complaint with Rasol Police after 2-3 days when the video of their ward went viral on social media. Taking action based on the complaint, police arrested the grandmother of Shruti, who was instrumental in apprehending and thrashing the youth.

Following the arrest, Shruti's family has also lodged a counter-complaint against the youth.
