Youth stabbed for refusing to share crackers in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A youth sustained critical injuries after another youth stabbed him with a knife for not sharing firecrackers at Mahisakhal under BJB Nagar area in Bhubaneswar on Diwali yesterday.

The injured youth Ashok Behura received fatal injuries on his neck, left shoulder and hand and was admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the accused Arjun Behera has been detained by the Badagada police, reports said.

“Ashok was bursting crackers when Arjun came and asked him for some fireworks. As Ashok refused to share the crackers, Arjun took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the former in his stomach,” said an eyewitness, Bijay Kumar Behura.
