Youth injured in crocodile attack in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A youth was injured after he was attacked by a crocodile while bathing in Brahmani river at Rajpur village under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district on Thursday.

According to reports, one Bhagwat Rout, a native of Rajpur village was attacked by the reptile while he was bathing on the river bank this morning. Although the crocodile grabbed left hand of Rout, he fought with it and managed to save himself.

The injured villager was first rushed to Rajnagar community health care centre and later shifted to Kendrapara Hospital for further treatment.

It is believed that the crocodile might have escaped through the openings in the net put up by the Forest Department in the river.
