Youth held for egg attack during Vajpayee's Asthi Kalash Yatra

Puri: Police today arrested youth for allegedly hurling eggs during ‘Asthi Kalash Yatra’ of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee near Chandanpur in Puri district on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Deepak Mahapatra, a former ward member and a resident of Chandanpur here. Meanwhile, Deepak has been sent to jail after his bail petition was rejected.

Earlier on August 23, BJP had filed an FIR at Chandanpur Police Station in connection of the egg attack. BJP leaders Bhrugu Buxipatra and Pravati Parida had alleged the involvement of BJD activists in the incident.
