Youth Drowns During Idol Immersion In Odisha

Jajpur: A youth died while immersing the idol of Goddess Durga in Pahanga under Jajpur Road Police limits of the district on Wednesday evening.

As per reports, one Debasish Jena, hailing from Rahania village under Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district reportedly drowned in the Dudhei gorge during idol immersion. Soon after the incident, some locals informed the Fire services department.

After getting information about the mishap, Fire services personnel reached the spot and immediately launched a rescue operation and traced the youth after two hours of frantic search.

Though the locals admitted Debasish to the hospital, he was pronounced brought dead by doctors.
