Bhubaneswar: With a motive of empowering the differently-abled children, the Social Responsibility Cell (SRC) of Xavier Institute of Management, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XIMB, XUB) organized "X-Enable-17" at XUB Grounds.

Around 70 children of both senior and junior age groups from various schools and NGOs of the city took part in this event. They competed against each-other in different sports like Tug-of-War, Badminton, Lemon and Spoon Race and Cricket.

“The Social Responsibility Cell (SRC) of our university organizes many such events for the differently abled students. This event is to promote the challenged  kids to showcase their potential by participating in various sports. This committee is socially oriented and conducts various programmes to help poor children,” said Father Arockia, Assistant Registrar (Admin) and Student Affairs, XIMB.

The students of the institution spent quality time with the differently abled students to bring smiles to their faces. Trophies and certificates of the various competitions were handed over by Father Arockia and Father Alwyn of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar.

“This event is supported by all the committees of the university and the management. We are happy we get an opportunity to share smiles and spread awareness through this event,” said a student Narayan Mohapatra.

Earlier in the day, the institution also organized "X-Athon-17", a 10 Km marathon in which more than 500 participants ran with an aim of promoting healthier lifestyle and raising fund for social cause.
