Cuttack: The death of a nine-year-old girl soon after she was administered an injection at a nursing home sparked tension at Niali area of Cuttack district on Sunday. Alleging that 'wrong injection' was administered, the girl's family members ransacked property inside the nursing home.

As per reports, Seema Nayak, the minor girl from Garada village was brought to the nursing home owned by a doctor after she complained of illness this morning.

Seema’s family members alleged that after examining her, Dr. Radhanath Panda instructed the compounder to administer an injection following which condition of the girl deteriorated. Though the family rushed Seema to Niali hospital, she was declared brought dead by the doctors, sources said.

Accusing the doctor at the nursing home of providing faulty treatment, the girl's family members ransacked property at the nursing home.

Meanwhile, police have detained the doctor and the compounder of the nursing home while further investigation into the incident is underway. Adequate police forces have also been deployed near the nursing home to avoid any untoward incident.
