Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the State Department launched 'Odisha By Road' campaign through organisation of a Superbike rally in Bhubaneswar today. Interestingly, the rally has been named 'Kalinga Rides'.

While all the participants of the rally assembled at around 6:45am at flag point at Infocity Square in Patia, as scheduled, the ride reportedly flagged off at 7:30am. The Superbike rally will conclude at Dhauli Shanti Stupa at around 8:40am.

As part of the programme, several unique initiatives of Odisha Tourism and OTDC viz Odisha By Road campaign, Bana Bhoji Day Picnics and Nimantran, OTDC's chain of Odia cuisine restaurants would be announced.

Also, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the Photography competition, a notification issued by the Tourism department mentioned.

The idea behind this social cause is to encourage sustainable and risk free tourism through road trips, to community managed Ecotourism destinations, so as to help revive the sector from the impact of the pandemic.
