Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths today stumbled upon disproportionate assets to the tune of nearly Rs 65 lakh after raiding the residence of Berhampur Works department junior clerk, Dandapani Mohapatra.

According to sources, four teams of Vigilance department had conducted simultaneous raids at four places including Mohapatra’s office at Berhampur, his residence and the houses of his relatives in Chhatrapur and Haladiapadar.

Official sources said, the team has found eight plots, a three storied building, eight passbooks of different banks in Mohapatra and his family members’ name.

So far disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 65 lakh have been detected while further investigation is on, Vigilance officials said.

“On the basis of warrants from court, raids were conducted. The value of total assets is expected to go up as the bank accounts are yet to be verified,” said Vigilance SP, Mayadhar Swain.
