Bhubaneswar: A day after the child delivery incident on footpath on the premises of Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar came to the fore, the woman who delivered the baby today narrated her shocking ordeal and levelled serious allegations of apathetic attitude by hospital authorities.

In an exclusive interview to OTV, the woman Pana Murmu said that when she reached Capital Hospital on Friday evening after suffering labour pain, the doctor in-charge sent her away saying that it was not labour, but surprisingly, just an hour later, she delivered her baby on the footpath outside Blood Bank of the Hospital.

"They sent me back saying it wasn't labour pain but about an hour later I delivered my baby. I was also denied bed in the hospital, so I had to sleep on the floor," alleged Murmu.

The woman also alleged that another lady staff of the hospital demanded Rs 100 from her for cutting the umbilical cord of the baby. Alleging gross negligence by the hospital staff, husband of the woman also demanded action against the on-duty doctors and nurses present during the incident.

It may be noted that Capital Hospital Superintendent Narayan Sethi had refuted the allegations of negligence towards the woman.
