Paradip/Kendrapara: A woman, who was presumed to be killed by her husband around seven years ago, was recently found alive with her alleged paramour in Pipili area of Puri district.

The woman, Itishree Moharana of Samagola village in Paradip, had tied the knot with Abhaya Sutar of Bamra village under Patkura police limits in Kendrapara district in 2013.

However, she went missing after 15 days of her marriage. Itishree's family members then accused Abhaya of killing her for dowry and lodged a police complaint.

Though police arrested Abhaya based on the complaint, he got bail as no charge sheet could be filed against him due to lack of evidence.

"I tried to prove myself innocent but no one listened to me and I got arrested. Later, I came out on bail. In the last seven years, I had to make several rounds of the police station for inquiry," said Abhaya.

Abhaya was mentally harassed for years even though he was not guiltily due to the false case filed by the family members of Itishree, alleged his sister-in-law adding, "We will move the court if fail to get justice."

Meanwhile, Itishree's father said that he was unaware of her daughter whereabouts. "It's a big relief for me that my daughter is alive but I don't know anything about her," said her father.

On the other hand, Uttam Moharana (father of Itishree's alleged paramour), said, "We had been searching for our son. After searching for him for years, we came to know that he is currently in Pipili. We were also not aware of his marriage."
