Woman Patient Dies Of Dengue In Odisha
Cuttack: A woman patient died of dengue while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The deceased has been identified as Rama Barik of Sakhigopal area in Puri district.
As per reports, Barik was admitted to SCB after her condition deteriorated on October 8. Later, it was confirmed that the patient was suffering from the vector-borne disease and was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the special dengue ward.
SCB authorities informed that the patient died while undergoing treatment last night. With this, two persons have died of dengue while undergoing treatment at SCB.
Senior officials informed that nearly 8,924 blood samples had come for tests at SCB Medical College and Hospital from different parts of the State since January this year. Out of the total samples, 1,124 tested positive for dengue.
At present, 58 patients are undergoing treatment at the dengue ward of the hospital.
