Bhubaneswar: A woman today brought harassment charges against the chairman of Bhubaneswar-based Regional College of Management, Prabir Pal. The woman filed a complaint at Chandrasekharpur Police station alleging that she was misbehaved with by Pal while she had gone for a job interview.

“He had threatened me of dire consequences if I disclose the same before anyone,” the complainant said.

Earlier, a police complaint was lodged at the Chandrasekharpur Police station against the woman and her male friends alleging that they tried to extort money from Pal by accusing him of misbehaviour. Subsequently, her male friends were arrested. A few days after the incident, the woman received bail from the Orissa High Court and lodged a police complaint against Pal today, informed sources.

“The court also asked me to lodge a case against the college chief at the earliest,” the complainant stated.

She alleged Pal had misbehaved with her while she had gone to the college for a job interview on July 7.

Meanwhile, social activist Sasmita Das, who accompanied the complainant to the police station, said “Though earlier she had visited the police station, her complaint was not lodged. However, following the court’s directive, a case has been registered now.”
