Nayagarh: A woman employee of Ranpur College in Nayagarh district has levelled allegations against two teachers of the college of torturing her physically and mentally in the college.

A complaint was lodged at the Ranpur police station here on Friday, in which the victim who works as Junior clerk-cum-typist in the college has alleged that two teachers - Dr Harekrushna Mohapatra and Dr Chandrakant Paikaray had been harassing her both physically and mentally and were also interfering in her works.

Though she apprised the matter to the Principal of the College, no action was taken against the accused, she alleged in the complaint.

"After facing repeated harassment, I filed a written complaint with the Principal. As no action was taken even after seven days of my complaint, I finally decided to knock the doors of police. I want justice and the two teachers should be punished as per law,” said the woman employee.

Principal of Ranpur College, Subash Chandra Barik said, "I referred the matter to the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee and had asked to submit a report on this so that necessary action could be taken.”

Meanwhile, police have registered a case against the teachers basing on the complaint filed by the woman.

“Based on the allegations of the woman employee, we have registered a case (Case No- 168) under Sections 354, 354(1) of IPC. As per the complaint, the incident had taken place on August 8, 2018 and she had also filed a written complaint with the Principal. Further investigation is on,” informed Girija Shankar Rath, IIC, Ranpur.
