Bhubaneswar: Amidst the controversy and mounting pressure on BJD after party's Barabati-Cuttack MLA Debasish Samantaray shoved the kin of Pulwama martyr, another BJD MLA has found himself in the dock. This time, a woman leader of BJD has brought misbehaviour allegations against party's Jajpur legislator, Pranab Prakash Das aka Bobby.

Tilottama Nayak, a woman BJD leader from Kalahandi who is also a member of Odisha Women's Commission has brought this serious allegation against Das. As per her allegation, the Jajpur MLA berated her on Monday while she had visited Das’s house for a discussion on distribution of party tickets for the upcoming 2019 polls.

"Bobby babu misbehaved with me following which I had an argument with him. Several other women were also there with me; he also scolded them and used abusive language. If I am not safe myself, how can I give security to other women," alleged Tilottama.

She further said that she will meet the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after he returns from his Dhenkanal visit and apprise him about the incident. "I need time to think about my future course of action and if required, I will even resign from the membership of the State Women's Commission," she added.

The party that used to claim to be the saviour of girls and women in the State, is now being exposed by its own women leaders, said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the allegation against Das.

Odisha Congress chief Niranjan Patnaik also lashed out at the ruling-BJD and said, "Everybody knows how the BJD pays respect to women. As the members of the BJD are mostly involved in such incidents, fair investigation is never done," alleged Patnaik.

However, Das couldn't be contacted for his response on the allegations. The report will be updated once a response is received.
