Woman, aide arrested for attacking another woman over illicit affair

Gajapati: Police today arrested a woman and her male associate for attacking another woman over extra-marital affair in Mohana area of the district.

As per the reports, the accused woman with the help of her male associate attacked another woman with the help of sharp weapons alleging that she had extramarital affair with her husband.

Locals who witnessed the incident immediately rescued the injured woman and admitted her to Mohana Hospital. They also detained the accused duo and handed them over to police.

In her statement, the accused admitted that she resorted to attack as she couldn't tolerate the matter.

However, Sub-Inspector of Mohana police station Alok Jagadala has said that the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained as the victim is unable to communicate properly.

“We are investigating the incident. As soon as the injured woman recuperates, we will interrogate to ascertain the exact cause behind the attack and accordingly take action,” Jagadala said.
