With no motorable road, pregnant woman carried on cot

Balasore: In yet another sheer show of government apathy in State, a pregnant woman was carried on cot for nearly 1.5 kms. This time the incident has been reported from Padasahi under Remuna block in Balasore district.

According to reports, the woman identified as Jayanti Singh complained of labour pain today morning following which her family members contacted 102 ambulance service.

Though the ambulance staff responded, they could not reach the patient due to non-motorable and narrow road in the village.

With no other option, the family members along with some villagers carried Jayanti on a cot through the uneven muddy road to reach the ambulance.

Later, Jayanti was taken to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in the same 102 ambulance.
