Bhubaneswar: A day after being appointed Chairman of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee, Dr. Sudeep Kumar Chand today said that he will try his best to improve transparency and efficiency in the system.

In an exclusive interview to OTV, Chand said, "We will particularly focus on transparency and efficiency of the system. We will simplify the complex admission process including online counseling to ensure that people don't face any hardships," said Chand.

The newly appointed chairman, who officially took charge today, said that a lot of challenges are lying ahead. However, he assured that proper steps will be taken to handle them.

"We will try to fix all sorts of problems at the earliest with the help of Grievance Redressal Cell, so that parents and guardians don't face any difficulties," Chand said.

On being asked about the special OJEE examination, Chand said, "We are hoping that more seats will be filled up after the special OJEE examination in the state."

The online application process for the special JEE to fill up vacant seats in various private engineering colleges across the State began yesterday. The process will continue till July 13.

As per the notification issued by the State Government earlier, the last date for online application fee payment is July 15 and the students can download the admit card from July 18.

The examination is scheduled to be held on July 22 while the results will be published on July 25.
