Bhubaneswar: Several parts of interior Odisha will experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours as under the influence of yesterday's cyclonic circulation over West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, a low pressure area has formed over Central parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand.

The low pressure system will trigger rainfall in the next 24 hours in Odisha as well.

Moreover, several parts of the State including Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Deogarh and Jharsuguda will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today.

Laxmidhar Mohapatra, duty officer at Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar today informed that heavy rain is also likely in several other districts of Odisha including Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Rayagada, Koraput and Kandhamal.

Mohapatra further informed that most parts of the State experienced rainfall activities in the past 24 hours. As per the data received by 8: 30 AM, Jharsuguda district received a highest rainfall of 78.2 mm followed by 63.4 mm in Baripada, 39.4 mm in Cuttack, 28mm in Bhubaneswar and 35mm in Talcher.
