Bhubaneswar: A thick blanket of fog enveloped several parts of the state, affecting lives in the early hours on Saturday.

Twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar witnessed fog which disrupted road communication in the cities today. Mild frost occurred in Bonai area of Sundargarh throwing lives out of gear in the district.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday said that minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to fall by around 2 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha from today.

Similarly, it will remain below normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius at many places in the interior parts of the State from the next one to two days. The temperature will gradually rise by two to three degrees in the interior Odisha after 2-3 days, said the Met Centre.

Dry weather most likely to prevail over the districts of the State till January 19, added the Met Centre.

The Met Centre had earlier issued yellow warning for cold wave condition for Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts.

Shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Khordha, Nayagarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Boudh on January 17.

On January 18, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Boudh.
