Bhubaneswar: After witnessing fluctuations in weather conditions in the past one week, the minimum temperature (night temperature) across Odisha is likely to witness a further drop, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.

Though weather is most likely to remain dry, the minimum temperature across the State is likely to fall by 2 degree Celsius for the next 48 hours.

“Minimum temperature (Night temperature) very likely to fall by about 20 C at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 2 days and no large change thereafter,” read an IMD release.

As per IMD, the highest maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius was recorded at Sundergarh and the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, there has been an appreciable fall in the minimum temperature at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha.

“The trough in low levels easterlies over west-central Bay of Bengal now lies over southwest & adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and runs from south Sri Lanka coast to north Andhra Pradesh coast across north Tamil Nadu coast at 1.5 km above mean sea level,” said IMD.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next two days:

Day 1 (Valid from 1330 hrs IST of 21.02.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 22.02.2021):

Shallow to moderate fog very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Day2  (Valid from 1330 hrs IST of 22.02.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.02.2021):
Shallow to moderate fog very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha and Mayurbhanj.
