Bhubaneswar: After reeling under scorching heat, people of Odisha can expect some relief as a low pressure area has formed over Bay of Bengal and it will trigger rainfall from October 10.

As per the latest forecast of the regional meteorological department, the low pressure formed over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman sea will become a well-marked low pressure area in next 12 hours and will further concentrate into depression in next 24 hours.

The department has further forecast that the depression would move in northwest direction along the Odisha coast and trigger rain from October 10.

"A few places in the coastal parts of the State will experience rainfall from October 10. There will be heavy rainfall at some places in coastal Odisha from October 11,” said an official of the meteorological department.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea in view of rough climatic conditions.

"Those who are out in the deep sea are advised to return to the coast by October 8 night," read the latest bulletin of the meteorological department.

As the southwest monsoon has already withdrawn from the eastern parts of the country, several parts of the country including Odisha is witnessing a rise in day temperature. The hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail till October 8.
