Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm along with lightning is likely to occur at some places over 13 districts in the next 24 hours, warned India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. As per the latest weather bulletin, a cyclonic circulation now lays over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and its neighbourhood area between 0.9 and 2.1 km above the mean sea level.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul and Dhenkanal tomorrow.

Heavy rain is also likely to occur at isolated parts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Kandhamal and Nayagarh in the next 24 hours.

Yellow warning has also been issued for several districts of coastal Odisha and other districts including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Rayagada. Light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorm is likely to occur in coastal and districts of south interior Odisha and a few places of north interior Odisha on March 8.

Though rain will not play a spoil sport on Holi (March 10), several districts including Ganjam, Puri, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Mayurbhanj will experience light to moderate rainfall with possibility of thunderstorm in one or two places in these districts.

As per the IMD forecast, light to moderate rain will occur in few places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur and isolated parts in the districts of Deogarh, Sonepur, Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal between March 10 and 11.
