Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for four States including Odisha.

As per the latest weather bulletin, heavy rainfall will occur at isolated places over south Chhattisgarh, Telangana, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha today.

The low pressure area now lies centred over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and Odisha. Under its impact, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack today, informed IMD sources.

Besides, heavy rainfall is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa.

As the sea condition is likely to remain rough, fishermen in these States have been warned not venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.

Weather forecast for next two days:

August 21: Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Konkan and Goa, Odisha, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal.

August 22: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa.
