Bhubaneswar:  Several parts of Odisha witnessed rainfall under the impact of a depression formed over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha and West Bengal coasts.

As per the latest weather bulletin, the depression is likely to intensify into a deep depression in the next 24 hours. The system is likely to move west, northwestwards across Odisha- West Bengal coast during the next 48 hours.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate and heavy rainfall in the next two days.

Squally wind with speed reaching up to 45-55 kmph and gusting up to 65kmph is likely to prevail along and off West Bengal and Odisha coasts during next 48hours. Strong wind with speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph gusting up to  50 kmph is very  likely  over interior  areas  of Odisha, Gangetic West  Bengal and Jharkhand on August 7.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into northwest Bay of Bengal along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts in the next 48 hrs.
