Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued heavy rainfall warning for Odisha in the next 24 hours.

As per the special bulletin issued by IMD, the depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved west-northwest wards with a speed reaching up to 16KM/HR and will cross Balasore coast by tonight.

Under its impact, rain and thundershowers will occur at isolated parts of Odisha tomorrow. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at several places including Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Sonepur and Bargarh.

As the sea will be rough around the system which lays centered over Northwest Bay of Bengal, Odisha and West Bengal coasts, the fishermen have also been warned not to venture into sea in the next 24 hours.
