Weather Alert: Coastal districts likely to witness thunderstorms in next 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for several coastal districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Moreover, several parts of northern and southern Odisha are likely to experience rainfall in the next 24 hours under the impact of a trough line.

As per the latest forecast, thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind is likely to occur over areas of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada districts in the next 24 hours.

The Met department has further warned fishermen not to venture into sea as the wind speed of 40-50 km/hr is likely to make the sea conditions rough.

Unseasonal rain and hailstones lashed several parts of the State including Bargarh, Keonjhar districts late Tuesday night.
