Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla has issued new examination guidelines giving three alternative options to students to appear for the final semester examination.

Option 1: Students can appear for the exams both online and offline. Students will be sent question papers through email and they can take the tests from their home. Within a stipulated time limit, they will have to finish the test and send it to the varsity for evaluation.

Option 2: VSSUT will evaluate the students for the term-end examinations on the basis of marks secured by them in the previous semester and the marks in the internal test, the weightages of which will be 50:50.

Option 3: Students can appear for the examinations after the university reopens (may be in September but only after government’s instruction).

Students who are in remote areas can go for the second option and those who doesn't want to go for option one can wait till the current situation improves paving way for the conventional mode of examination, said Atal Chaudhuri, Vice Chancellor of VSSUT.

Earlier, VSSUT students had strongly opposed the varsity's decision to hold the end term semester exams next month. The notice related to the conduct of the exams also asked students to be present at the university from June 18 to 20.

Besides, the varsity had also asked students to quarantine themselves in the university hostels till the end of their examinations and asked parents to submit undertakings regarding the same.
