Puri: The Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday raided houses and properties associated with one Sandhya Rani Bhatta- an Anganwadi worker engaged at Akshayadham Anganwadi Center at Baseli Sahi in Puri, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

As many as six teams of the Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division conducted simultaneous searches at six places including Bhatta's residential house at Hata Sahi, two houses at Akshaya Dham fish market in Baseli Sahi and Samanta area in Puri Town, a triple storied building at Hatisal and her in-laws house at Hatasahi.

Similar raids were also carried out at her husband Pravat Mishra's office at Delaware and Anganwadi Center at Baselisahi in Puri.

The searches are being conducted on the strength of search warrant issued by Court of Special Judge Vigilance in Bhubaneswar, said reports.

Till the last reports were filed, the Bhubaneswar Vigilance officials said cash, gold ornaments, several land related documents and bank account passbooks have been recovered during the raids.

However, the exact amount of Patra’s disproportionate assets will be known after the searches are over, said officials.

Earlier on Tuesday, Vigilance officials detected disproportionate assets worth over Rs 2 crore from Namita Dalai- an anganwadi worker of Ward no 9 in Berhampur Municipal corporation (BeMc) area. The anti-corruption wing raided her properties on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to her known source of income.
