Vigilance arrests Tehsildar, wife; Rs 7 Cr assets detected

Chhatrapur: On charges of acquiring assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, Chhatrapur Tehsildar Bijay Ketan Sahu and his wife Nalini Kumari Prusty were arrested today following raids by Vigilance sleuths yesterday. The Tehsildar's wife is currently posted as FA-cum-CAO at Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA).

As per sources, raids were conducted in Bhubaneswar, Jatani, Puri, Chhatrapur and Kendarpada. The residences and offices of both Sahu and Prusty were searched simultaneously. Search Warrants were issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

According to Vigilance sources, assets to the tune of Rs 6.87 crore belonging to Sahu and Prusty have been detected so far.
