Vigilance arrests pharmacist in disproportionate assets case

Baripada: Vigilance sleuths raided the house of a pharmacist in Baripada and arrested him for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to sources, the millionaire pharmacist Sandeep Pati, was working as a contractual worker at Rangmatia hospital for the last eight years and was made permanent two months back.

The sleuths raided a 3-storey building in Tulsi Chaura area of the district owned by Pati and a paternal house. Apart from that, cash worth Rs 60, 000, land documents and bank passbook have also been seized.

As per reports, Vigilance department is currently estimating the total assets of Pati.

In another raid conducted in Jagatsinghpur yesterday, Vigilance sleuths had raided the houses and office of a driver engaged in Kujang Tehsil office on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
