Video of ‘drunk’ pharmacist of Jagatsinghpur hospital goes viral

Jagatsinghpur: A video of a pharmacist prescribing medicines to patients while laying on a bed at district headquarters hospital of Jagatsinghpur went viral on social media. Following the incident, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Ajay Kumar Baitharu, today transferred the official as a precautionary measure.

The CDMO said anyone would believe that the pharmacist was drunk after seeing the video.

“The video shows the pharmacist behaving in a way as if he was drunkduring duty hours. This apart, a few days back, liquor bottles were found inside security guard’s room. Therefore, we have transferred the pharmacist as a precautionary step,” added the CDMO.

As per reports, the recent incident has raised concern among patients and attendants about the quality of healthcare in the hospital.

A few days back, the hospital made headlines after more than 20 wine bottles were found at the security room of the hospital. Prior to this, a newborn baby was found in the hospital toilet.
