Video of celebratory firing in Odisha businessman's party goes viral

Puri: In the age of social media, bad influences could make one an easy target and persons often fall into the trap without any regards to the hazards that it can pose to others.

In one such incident, a video of bodyguards of a businessman purportedly firing bullets in air during a party in Baliasahi under Town Police limits of Puri district, similar to several incidents reported from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, has gone viral.

As per reports, two bodyguards of Narayan Sahu, a well-known businessman of Puri, fired seven rounds of bullets while dancing to the tune of a Haryanvi song. Sahu was also seen shaking a leg while holding the pistol. The date and time when the video was shot is yet to be ascertained.

While use of such weapons in public is illegal, Puri SP Umashankar Mishra has assured to launch an investigation into the case.

"License is not issued to use weapon in public or misuse it any other way. After an investigation we will get to know who all are involved in the incident," said Mishra.
