Bhubaneswar: In a big relief to vehicle owners, the State Transport Authority (STA) of Odisha today informed that there will be no scrapping of vehicles which are more than 15 years old.
"At present there is no policy to scrap vehicles more than 15 years old; RC of 15-year-old non-transport vehicles can be renewed at RTO offices; registration of transport vehicles will remain valid as long as their fitness certificate is valid," the STA informed through a tweet.
At present there is no policy to scrap more than 15 year old vehicles. The owners of fifteen year old Non Transport vehicles can renew the RC at RTO office.

The Centre had earlier sought the consent of Odisha government for setting up of Authorized Vehicle Scrapping Facility (AVSP) in the State.
While the Centre had sought reply from Odisha by November 15, Odisha Transport department secretary, G Srinivasan had then said that a decision would be taken only after a departmental meeting.
