Bhubaneswar: Utkal University authorities today postponed the Plus-III 4th semester examinations following protests by students.

Informing about the development, college development council director, Santosh Tripathy said that the theory exams which were scheduled to begin from May 4 will now start from June 17. Moreover, the practical examinations will be held from May 4, he added.

The varsity authorities took the decision after several students gheraoed the vice chancellor's office today demanding the postponement of the exam. The students launched the protest alleging that the course syllabus for the semester has not been completed. It is alleged that only 30% of the syllabus for the fourth semester has been covered.

Earlier on Monday, around 100 students of more than 15 colleges affiliated to the university had held a protest rally from Vani Vihar to the varsity demanding postponement of the examinations.
