Utkal University Platinum Jubilee: Prez Kovind To Grace Special Event On Dec 8

Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will grace the special function to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Utkal University on December 8.

Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo, who is also an alumnus of the State's oldest university made the announcement while addressing the alumni meet at the Biju Patnaik Sports Complex in the varsity campus today.

"The President of India Ram Nath Kovind will come to Utkal University on December 8. Therefore, I request all the alumni to reach the function in large number. The information regarding timing of the function will be conveyed later," informed Sahoo.

Apart from Sahoo, many political leaders who were the former students of the university including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and administrative officials attended the function.

Earlier on Saturday, CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the five-day platinum jubilee celebration of the premier varsity.
