Bhubaneswar: Achieving a significant milestone, over 20 candidates from Odisha are in the list of persons recommended for appointment to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

The final result of the civil services examination 2019 conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was declared today.

Odisha's Abhishek Saraf and Sanjita Mohapatra have secured All India Rank- 8 and 10, respectively in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2019. Formerly associated with the SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant, Sanjita had reportedly grabbed the second rank in OAS exams two years back.

The Commission's recommended list has a few more names representing the State. Anshuman Raj has got an All India Rank of 107, Anup Das (120), Nabal Kumar Jain (125), Rahul Goel (168), Kumar Biswaranjan (182), Shailaja Das (190), Vedbhushan (195) Rahul Mishra (202), Hema Nayak (225), Arushi Mishra (229), Asish Das (291), Ankit Shankar Mishra (294), Sonali Mishra (300).

Similarly, Divya Mishra has secured AIR-312, Arghya Patnaik (361), Jubin Mohapatra (379), Samir Kumar Jena (441), Manas Ranjan Sahu (567), Shivam Mishra (712), Om Prasad Mohanty (715), Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak (819).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders congratulated all the candidates who have cleared the civil services exam.

"For those youngsters who did not get the desired result in the Civil Services Examination, 2019, I would like to tell them- life is full of several opportunities. Each and every one of you is hardworking and diligent. Best wishes for all your future endeavours," the PM said.

This time, Pradeep Singh has topped the exam, while Pratibha Verma is leading the women candidates.

The candidature of 66 recommended candidates is provisional while the results of 11 candidates have been kept withheld, mentioned UPSC in the notification.
