Two ‘Pahadi Cheetah’ Gang Members Nabbed In Odisha; 7 Pistols, Carbine Seized
Rourkela: In a major breakthrough, the Sundergarh Police arrested two members of the notorious ‘Pahadi Cheetah’ gang, a banned outfit, following an exchange of fire on Thursday night.
Sundergarh SP Sagarika Nath informed that two People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) members have been arrested. The accused have been identified as Raju Kindo and Sanamanu Shah.
Seven pistols, one automatic carbine and Rs 4.81 lakh cash have been recovered from their possession.
“Based on an intelligence report regarding the presence of hardcore members of the Pahadi Cheetah gang, a raid was conducted by a police team led by Biramitrapur SDPO and others last night. The criminal Raju Kindo was armed and ready to fire when out officials overpowered him. Later during a search, a cache of firearms and ammunition were recovered,” said Nath.
Police sources said Raju Kindo was involved in six criminal cases including murder, extortion and robbery.
“We are further interrogating both of the accused to ascertain the source of procurement of firearms and other aspects,” Nath added.
