Jajpur: Headmasters of two primary project schools in Jajpur district have landed in trouble for taking leave for pilgrimage 'without' apprising their senior concerned authorities.

The two headmasters, Saran Kumar Rout of Koreigadia Project Primary School and Bidyadhar Sethi of Sahadapalu Project Primary School, reportedly remained absent from their respective schools for the last couple of days as they were allegedly on pilgrimage without informing the Block Education Officer (BEO).

Based on the allegations, the BEO has ordered to stop disbursement of salary to the duo and sought a written reply from them in this regard.

"He (Sethi) gave the leave application in which he cited health issues and left after handing over the charges to me," said Duryadhan Parida, an assistant teacher of Sahadapalu Project Primary School.

Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) Harekrushna Swain, on the directions of the BEO, visited Sahadapalu Project Primary School on Saturday for an inquiry.

Later, he said, "After getting instructions from the BEO, I came here for the enquiry and got to know that the headmaster was on leave. He had submitted an application and a casual leave was mentioned in his name in the school register.

On the other, Sethi accepted that he did not take permission from the BEO and went to the pilgrimage. "I did not follow the leave procedure," said Sethi.
