Keonjhar: Two days after police arrested Debasish Patra, son of School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra, Ghasipura police and Ramachandrapur police registered two more cases against the former.

As per a complaint filed by Anandpur municipality vice-chairman Suresh Sahu, police have registered a case against 15 persons along with Debashish.

This apart, another case has been registered against Debasish mentioning him as the prime accused for physically assaulting cops and rescuing an accused.

As per the direction of Keonjhar District and Sessions judge, Debasish has been sent to a judicial remand, sources said.

"Yesterday, Debashish Patra was forwarded to court after a case was registered at the Ghasipura police station. He has been sent on a judicial remand for his involvement in another case," Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh Patra said.

On the other hand, members of the BJP in Anandapur have staged a protest demanding resignation of Badri Patra.

According to sources, Debasish and his associates had attacked police officials near Padana Chhak when police had gone to arrest a few persons in connection with a group clash between BJD workers and Sana Sena activists.

Subsequently, Ramachandrapur police arrested Debasish on Thursday from Chhatia Tangi area in Keonjhar.
