Two minor boys drown in pond in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident, two minor boys drowned while taking bath in a pond at Singipur village of Balikuda block of the district.

The deceased were identified as Omm Biswal and Arya Suman Rout.

The two boys, aged 9 and 10 years, slipped deep into the water while taking a bath in the pond, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Jagatsinghpur, Sujogya Mishra.

Though both were rescued by onlookers and rushed to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), doctors declared them dead.

As per reports, both the deceased were studying in Class III.

Following the mishap, a pall of gloom has descended in the area.
