Jagatsinghpur: Two kanwariyas slipped into deep waters at a ghat while trying to collect holy water for worship near Jhula baba mutt in Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur district today. While one of them was rescued, another is still missing.

According to sources, the rescued kanwariya Saroj Nath has been admitted to Manijanga hospital where he is undergoing treatment. However, fire officials have launched a search operation to trace the missing youth Guddu. Both the kanwariyas are resident of Pipal Madhav village.

Earlier on Sunday night, four kanwariyas were killed after being hit by a train on Brahmani bridge, a few metres away from Panposh railway station in Rourkela. The deceased were identified as Nilesh Das, Jamuna Das, Lucky Das and Ram Barosa hailed from the same family and were residents of Bhilai area of Chhattisgarh.
