Bhubaneswar: At least two persons were injured after unidentified miscreants hurled bomb in Azad Nagar area of Sunderpada under Air Field Police jurisdiction in the capital city on Thursday.

As per reports, apart from hurling bomb in the area, the miscreants also attacked a youth with sharp weapon leaving him critically injured.

Though the exact reason behind the bombing has not been ascertained yet, it is suspected that the incident is a fallout of a dispute involving selection of village head in the locality.

There was a dispute between two factions in the village over selection of Village Committee President. Sources said tensions had erupted in the last meeting on the selection of the President.

It is suspected that, an aspirant for the position who was involved in a verbal duel with others in the last meeting, is involved in the attack.

The injured youths have lodged a complaint at the Air Field police station in this connection. Given the sensitiveness of the situation, police forces have been deployed in the area to thwart any untoward incident.
