Berhampur: Panic gripped residents of Polasara area of Ganjam district on Saturday when some bike borne miscreants hurled no less than five bombs at different places in the town leaving two persons injured.

As per reports, two bike borne miscreants hurled bombs at a government foreign liquor shop at Polasara Bazaar square and Ranipada square. They also hurled two bombs at Balighai square before fleeing the area.

Two persons were reportedly injured during the bombings and were admitted to hospital by locals soon after the incident.One of them is said to be critical.

Later, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

On being asked about the bombings, Superintendent of Police of Ganjam, Brijesh Roy said, “Their target seemed to be the foreign liquor shop and its owner as the miscreants hurled bombs at the shop and its owner’s house as well.”

Prima facie investigation by police revealed past enmity and business rivalry behind this incident.
